# Crypto (NOWPayments)

> Accept crypto payments in a Gamecart store with NOWPayments

Buyers pay in crypto on a NOWPayments hosted invoice page. Gamecart needs two values from your NOWPayments account: an API key and an IPN secret key. Gamecart sends the notification URL with every invoice, so you don't configure one in NOWPayments.

## Get the API key in NOWPayments

1. Open the [NOWPayments dashboard](https://account.nowpayments.io) and sign in.
2. Go to **Store Settings > API keys**.
3. Create a key and copy it.

## Get the IPN secret key

1. In the same **Store Settings** area, open **Instant payment notifications**.
2. Generate an **IPN secret key** and copy it.

Gamecart uses this secret to verify that each payment notification really comes from NOWPayments.

To test first, create the keys in the [NOWPayments sandbox](https://account-sandbox.nowpayments.io) instead.

## Add it in Gamecart

1. Open **Settings > Gateways** and click **Add gateway**.
2. Click **Add** on **Crypto (NOWPayments)**.
3. Paste the values in **API key** and **IPN secret**.
4. Turn on **Sandbox mode** only if the keys come from the NOWPayments sandbox.
5. Click **Save Configuration**.
6. Turn on the switch in the gateway list when you are ready to take payments.
